How do we define unity?

The union of the people of God, in all our various distinctives and expressions, bound to God and to one another by the Gospel.

  • Leaning in to listen, learn, and discover without assumption.

Curiosity is about pausing long enough to truly hear the heart, the story, the perspective of another. James 1:19 calls believers to listen deeply before responding — an act that breaks cycles of misunderstanding and division. This posture anchors us in a spiritual discipline of listening that opens the door to reconciliation.

  • Standing with others in mutual care and shared struggle.

Solidarity requires showing up even when it costs something. Galatians 6:2 captures this sacrificial presence. It makes solidarity not just an action but a fulfillment of Christ’s love.

  • Choosing unity through deliberate actions and rhythms of prayer.

Unity does not happen accidentally; it requires effort, choice, pursuit, and consistent practice. Ephesians 4:3 frames intentionality as active participation with the Spirit’s work — a perfect fit for the “clarity and charge” you want participants to experience.

  • Letting go of rigid expectations to embrace movement, change, and shared leadership.

Fluidity means flexibility without compromise — yielding preferences so the Gospel can be seen clearly. I Corinthians 9:22-23 captures the missional agility, humility, and cross-cultural posture that defines fluidity.

  • Choosing Christ-like lowliness that honors others above self.

Humility is the soil where unity grows. This posture mirrors the spirit of “downward mobility” we often speak about — placing others above ourselves so Christ’s light can shine through us.
